How Calvary International became
Go To Nations…
For many years, Calvary International worked to get noticed the hard way. Whenever one mentioned Calvary International to the general public, the immediate response was often, “Are you a church?” - a question which tended to lead to a long, somewhat complicated explanation of who we are and what we do.
Founded in 1981, Calvary International was birthed by Dr. Daniel & Sharon Williams out of their own missionary experience. While serving in Costa Rica, they came to the prayerful realization that ministering in a foreign land is much more difficult to do when you do it alone and felt impressed by the Spirit of God to create an organization that would provide support and valuable resources to missionaries in the field. Over the years, this core purpose has not changed.
Desiring to be good stewards of Calvary International’s original intent while recognizing the need to bring that vision into sharper focus, the executive committee felt it was necessary to have a name that would set us apart from other organizations and churches while clearly defining what we do. A name that would immediately signify excitement, urgency, and action. A name that would not create confusion but would impart to the hearer a sense of hope and destiny.
Simply put, the name Go To Nations states our objective…to “go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mark 16:15 NIV). We believe Go To Nations accurately defines what our organization has been built on: To bring hope to a hurting world, to train leaders to change nations with God’s love, and to provide a banner of support to missionaries as they work to fulfill the Great Commission in all nations.
We so appreciate your partnership with Calvary International/Go To Nations for the past 30+ years. We are very grateful for all who have stood with us to reach over 1.3 million lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We don't take the mandate of the Lord lightly as we continue to pursue His purpose for this ministry. We are called together to go into all the world and make disciples of every tribe, every tongue and every nation. We still need your prayers and financial support to accomplish this task. We pray that you will continue to help us reach the nations for Christ, and if you are new to our ministry we invite you to prayerfully consider becoming a partner with us in the harvest.
