Is it necessary to be and stay healthy while being on the mission field?  I mean aren't my gifts, talents, abilities enough to "get the job done"?  This is what I thought when I was confronted about my health. I felt so judged by my outside. I was hurt and confused until I heard from the Father saying He was actually the one doing the confronting.

You mean, God cares about my health? I thought He made me this way.

"Take time to get healed and whole emotionally and physically." These are the words I was given by my mission sending agency.  The truth is that the outside is merely a reflection of what's going on inside.  Our inside finds ways to manifest itself in our bodies, marriage, relationships, the way we keep house, etc.  God showed me what was broken was inside me.  This was something that could not be fixed by the latest fad diet and greatest exercise program no matter how much I hoped and wanted it to.  This required surgery, His kind where I remove my own veil and say here I am..faults, mistakes, failures and all.

God cares about our health.  Our whole health.  The depth and range of impact we want to make on the mission field God has called each of us to is in our hands.  Remove the veil and let the Great Creator do the grace filled surgery only He can do so that you may be healthy, healed, and whole.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

3 John 1:2 (NKJV)

Prayer: Father, we thank you for all the "sent ones" that have responded with a resounding yes and followed it up by laying down everything to follow you to the uttermost.  We ask for a deeper revelation of how you see our health.  We ask for courage to remove the veil with you so that you can come do your healing, freeing, beauty for ashes kind of surgery.  We thank you for being our Great Healer, Comforter, Friend.
